Job Description
Our clients are looking for the Head Chefs second in command/Assistant, responsible for planning and managing food preparation in the kitchen. Perform a variety of duties including but not limited to planning menus, assisting in training new kitchen staff and recording stock.
You will be responsible for:
- Helping in the preparation and design of all food and drink menus
- Producing high-quality plates both design and taste-wise
- Ensuring that the kitchen operates in a timely way that meets our quality standards
- Filling in for the Head Chef in planning and directing food preparation when necessary
- Resourcefully solve any issues that arise and seize control of any problematic situation
- Assisting in Managing and training kitchen staff, establishing working schedule and assessing staffs performance
- Ordering supplies to stock inventory appropriately
- Complying with and enforcing sanitation regulations and safety standards
- Maintain a positive and professional approach with co-workers and guests
- Provide support to junior kitchen employees with various tasks including line cooking, food preparation, and dish plating, and assist in training junior cook
- Understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures
- Maintaining an excellent record of kitchen and staff management
