Description:
We are currently recruiting for a Diesel Mechanic for a mine based in Brits (North West). Experience & Qualification:- Grade12/N4
- Diesel Mechanic Trade Certificate.
- Minimum 5 years experience as a Diesel Mechanic surface and underground.
- ASE Diesel Certification advantageous.
- Advanced knowledge of diesel engine components.
- Good IT and diagnostic skills.
- Proficiency with maintenance and repair tools.
- Competent B Certificate.
- First Aid Certificate.
- Must have own transport and a valid SA driver’s license.
- Good general health AND a certificate of fitness (Red Ticket).
- Sound planning (time management), and organizational abilities.
- Ability to plan, organize and prioritize.
- Good customer and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to function on your own and within a team.
- Independent, self-motivated, proactive thinking.
- Ability to communicate in English (written & verbal) and one other official language.
- Ensure that a good standard of safety awareness is maintained.
- Ensure that section personnel comply with the requires Health and Safety and Environmental standards.
- Ensure good housekeeping standards and maintained.
- Daily, Weekly and Monthly inspections to be done.
- Running diagnostic tests on vehicles.
- Analysing diagnostic test results.
- Replacing vehicle engines, steering mechanisms, transmissions, and braking systems.
- Checking vehicle lighting systems.
- Test driving vehicles to gauge performance.
- Performing preventative maintenance on service trucks.
- Maintaining detailed records of serviced vehicles.
- Adhering to an inspection procedure checklist.
- Maintaining a parts inventory.
- Ensuring the cleanliness of the shop
- Must be able to work overtime when required.
- Must be able to work overtime when required
