Job Overview:We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Finance Consultant to join our growing finance team within the recruitment industry. This role will be key to ensuring smooth and efficient management of the credit control function, as well as overseeing the full pay and bill process, including contract creation and compliance. The successful candidate will work closely with both internal teams and external clients to maintain financial processes and support the company’s cash flow and compliance objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
Credit Control:
Manage and monitor outstanding client invoices and ensure timely payments are received.
Communicate effectively with clients regarding overdue payments, offering solutions where appropriate.
Produce and maintain accurate aged debtor reports.
Ensure adherence to payment terms and escalation procedures where necessary.
Work with the sales team and management to resolve any credit-related issues.
Full Pay and Bill Process:
Oversee the entire pay and bill cycle for contractors and clients.
Raise and manage contracts for all recruitment placements in line with agreed terms.
Ensure accurate and timely invoicing, following up on any discrepancies.
Coordinate with recruitment consultants to ensure that contractors' timesheets, pay rates, and billable hours are correct and processed efficiently.
Process payments to contractors and clients, ensuring compliance with tax, national insurance, and other statutory regulations.
Compliance and Reporting:
Ensure all contracts and payments are in line with internal policies and external regulatory requirements.
Assist in the preparation of financial reports and audits related to the pay and bill process.
Maintain accurate financial records in the system, ensuring timely updates and correct entries.
Team Collaboration:
Work closely with other departments (e.g., recruitment consultants, operations, HR) to ensure accurate data flow between teams.
Provide guidance and support to junior finance staff as required.
Requirements:
Skills and Experience:Proven experience in finance, with a strong understanding of credit control and pay and bill processes, ideally within the recruitment industry.
Solid knowledge of UK employment legislation and compliance requirements.
Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
Ability to communicate effectively with clients, contractors, and internal teams.
High level of accuracy and numeracy.
Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
