Hire Resolve's Client are seeking Trainee Accountants to join their dynamic team in Hermanus . This is an excellent opportunity for recent graduates or candidates with a relevant accounting qualification who are looking to gain practical experience in the accounting field. As a Trainee Accountant, you will assist in day-to-day financial operations, learning from experienced professionals, and working towards completing your professional qualifications.Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with the preparation and maintenance of financial statements in accordance with accounting standards.
- Perform general bookkeeping duties, including managing journals, ledgers, and other accounting records.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts and financial reports.
- Assist with accounts payable and receivable functions, including processing invoices and payments.
- Prepare and submit tax returns, including VAT, PAYE, and Income Tax, under supervision.
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Reconcile financial discrepancies and assist in resolving issues.
- Assist with audits by providing necessary documentation and information to auditors.
- Participate in budgeting and forecasting processes.
- Maintain accurate records and assist with internal controls to ensure financial accuracy.
- Attend training sessions and workshops to further professional knowledge and skills.
- Assist in the development of financial reports for management decision-making.
- Adhere to company policies, procedures, and deadlines.
Required Qualifications and Experience:
- A relevant BCom Accounting or equivalent degree (or currently studying towards one).
- Strong academic background with a passion for accounting and finance.
- Knowledge of basic accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., Pastel, QuickBooks, or similar) is an advantage.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
- Ability to work under supervision while learning and developing professional skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in financial documentation.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to interact with colleagues and clients.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
