Purpose of the role
The Chief Ventilation Officer is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining ventilation systems and strategies across chrome mining operations to ensure safe working conditions and regulatory compliance.
Requirements:
- Chrome Mine Environment, Board And Pillar Mining: 5 to 6 years
- Knowledge Of Ventilation Design Principles And Practices: 5 to 6 years
- Ventilation Simulation Software: 5 to 6 years
- Grade 12/Matric.
- Advanced Certificate in Mine Environmental Control (MEC).
- Legal Appointment – 12.1 Occupational Hygienist (5-10 years).
- Chrome Mine Environment Board and Pillar Mining (5-10 years).
- Knowledge of ventilation design principles and practices, including the use of ventilation simulation software (5-10 years).
- Oversee and manage the ventilation systems within the chrome mine to ensure the health and safety of all workers (5-10 years).
- Develop and implement ventilation plans to maintain air quality and control harmful gases and dust within the mine (5-10 years).
- Monitor and assess air flow, gas levels, and temperature throughout the mine to ensure compliance with safety regulations (5-10 years).
- Conduct regular inspections and audits of ventilation systems to identify and address any issues or potential hazards (5-10 years).
Qualifications
