My client, a key player in the FMCG industry , is seeking a Third-Party Logistics (3PL) Manager to oversee and optimize logistics operations across multiple regions, including SADC countries such as Lesotho, Botswana, Namibia, and Kenya. This role requires a strategic thinker with extensive experience in logistics, fleet management, third-party logistics, and cross-border operations.Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage the Control Tower , ensuring real-time visibility, coordination, and efficiency of third-party logistics operations.
- Develop and implement logistics strategies to optimize distribution, reduce costs, and improve operational performance.
- Manage third-party logistics service providers , ensuring seamless integration with the company’s supply chain.
- Oversee fleet and logistics fleet services , including sourcing, contract management, and operational oversight.
- Ensure compliance with regional trade regulations for exports to SADC countries.
- Oversee payment systems related to third-party logistics providers, ensuring accurate and efficient processing.
- Develop and execute driver management strategies , including evaluations, performance tracking, and breakdown management.
- Monitor and analyze key logistics KPIs to improve service levels and cost-effectiveness.
- Collaborate with procurement, operations, and finance teams to enhance supply chain efficiency.
- Stay up to date with market trends, emerging logistics technologies, and best practices in FMCG logistics.
Minimum Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration , or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in logistics and third-party logistics management within the FMCG industry .
- Strong background in cross-border logistics and exports to SADC regions .
- Proven experience in contract negotiation, fleet management, and third-party logistics sourcing .
- Solid understanding of inventory management, payment systems, and logistics financial controls .
- Hands-on experience with driver strategy, performance evaluations, and breakdown management .
- Excellent negotiation, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to thrive under pressure and manage multiple priorities effectively.
