The ideal candidate will have a strong background in agricultural management, with a focus on both pome and stone fruit production. As a key member of the management team, you will be responsible for the overall management of farm operations, ensuring optimal productivity, quality control, and sustainable farming practices. You will also be responsible for the supervision and development of farm workers, implementing effective farming strategies, and maintaining compliance with industry standards and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage all day-to-day operations of the farm, including planning, coordination, and execution of agricultural activities.
- Oversee the cultivation and production of pome and stone fruit, ensuring optimal yield, quality, and sustainable farming practices.
- Lead and manage a team of farm workers, including training, performance management, and ensuring a safe working environment.
- Develop and implement farming strategies to improve crop production, increase efficiency, and reduce costs.
- Monitor and manage the farm’s resources, including soil health, irrigation systems, and farm equipment.
- Prepare and manage the farm’s budget, ensuring cost-effective practices and identifying areas for improvement.
- Ensure compliance with all agricultural regulations, including health and safety standards, environmental guidelines, and relevant certifications.
- Report regularly to senior management on farm performance, challenges, and progress on key initiatives.
