Hire Resolve's client, a global leader in logistics and supply chain solutions, is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join their dynamic finance team. - Prepare and review monthly financial statements and management reports.
- Perform general ledger account reconciliations, including bank reconciliations.
- Ensure accurate month-end and year-end closings.
- Process supplier invoices and ensure prompt payment according to terms.
- Manage customer invoicing and follow up on outstanding accounts.
- Reconcile accounts receivable and payable balances.
- Assist with VAT calculations, submissions, and reconciliations in line with SARS regulations.
- Ensure adherence to B-BBEE, SARS, and IFRS standards.
- Assist with audits and provide relevant documentation for external and internal auditors.
- Monitor and report on cash flow to ensure adequate liquidity for operational needs.
- Support in preparing forecasts for short-term and long-term cash requirements.
- Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts.
- Analyze operational costs and variances to identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Support the Finance Manager in improving financial systems, processes, and controls.
- Utilize the company’s ERP system for enhanced financial data visibility and reporting.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or National Diploma in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in accounting, preferably within the logistics or freight forwarding industry.
- Proficiency in accounting software (SAP, Pastel, or similar) and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong understanding of IFRS and South African GAAP.
- Experience with SARS regulations and VAT submissions.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Attention to detail with a high level of accuracy.
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
- Ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization.
- Experience in logistics or supply chain finance (preferred).
- Knowledge of South African B-BBEE compliance and reporting (preferred).
- Membership with a professional body such as SAIPA or SAICA (preferred).
