BCom Accounting qualification Minimum 5 years of experience working in similar role Proficient in Xero and Pastel Good understanding of VIP system for Payroll
Responsibilities:
Providing management accounts for the companies every month Improving systems and processes within the accounting of companies Pastel and Xero accounting VAT is done timelessly Recording Financial Transactions
Journal Entries: recording all financial transactions Categorizing Transactions: Properly classifying transactions into categories like revenue, expenses, liabilities, and assets to ensure accurate financial reporting Maintaining the General Ledger
General Ledger Management: maintains the companys general ledger, which is the primary accounting record. This involves updating and reconciling accounts regularly to reflect accurate balances. Posting Entries: Recording transactions in the general ledger, ensuring all data is entered correctly and organized by account type Reconciling Accounts
Bank Reconciliation: Ensuring that the company's financial records match those of the bank. This involves comparing the companys bank statement with the general ledger to identify discrepancies and correct errors Credit Card and Other Account Reconciliation: Reconciling other financial accounts, including credit card statements, petty cash, and loans, to ensure they align with the company's records Accounts Payable and Receivable
Managing Accounts Payable (AP): track amounts owed by the business to suppliers, vendors, and other creditors, ensuring that bills and invoices are paid on time. Managing Accounts Receivable (AR): They track outstanding amounts owed to the company by customers, issue invoices, and ensure timely collection of payments Preparing Financial Statements
Income Statement: Bookkeepers may assist in preparing income statements (profit and loss statements) that show the companys revenue, expenses, and profitability Balance Sheet: They help prepare balance sheets, which summarize the company's assets, liabilities, and equity at a specific point in time Assisting with Audits
Preparing for Audits: help prepare the companys financial records for audits, ensuring all documentation is accurate and up-to-date Cooperating with Auditors: During the audit process, work with external auditors to answer questions and provide necessary documentation How to Apply:
