Job Title: Tailings Assurance Coordinator
Location: Gauteng
An industry-leading organization is seeking a Tailings Assurance Coordinator to join its Group Internal Audit and Assurance team . This role will support Health, Safety, Environment, and Community catastrophic hazard campaign audits , providing technical and administrative expertise.
Reporting to the Head of Assurance Planning, Reporting, and Operations , you will work closely with the Tailings Audit and Assurance Manager to ensure the effective management of tailings assurance processes. This is a great opportunity to gain global exposure and contribute to best practices in environmental and risk assurance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide technical and administrative support for HSEC catastrophic hazard campaign audits.
- Organize Independent Tailings Review Board meetings , track meeting readiness, manage document uploads, take minutes, and update tracking systems.
- Monitor, review, and process Tailings and Dams Assurance Workbooks .
- Track and verify GISTM Disclosure Factsheets and uploaded evidence.
- Maintain audit reports and corrective action tracking systems.
- Ensure data integrity in tailings databases , including data entry and management.
- Assist with risk assessments, data analytics, and implementation of new audit methodologies.
- Handle general administrative tasks to support the assurance function.
Required Skills
- Experience in collating, managing, and reporting geotechnical/mining data sets .
- Ability to work flexibly in a global team across multiple time zones .
- Strong team player with a proactive and positive attitude.
- Well-organized and detail-oriented with an efficient working style .
- Strong analytical, facilitation, and problem-solving skills .
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to engage with stakeholders.
- Self-motivated and resilient, capable of handling repetitive tasks with accuracy .
- At least 2 years of experience in a similar role within the civil, geotechnical, or mining industry .
- Fluency in English (corporate language); additional languages such as French, Spanish, Russian, or German are advantageous.
- Advanced proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI, SharePoint, and DocuSign).
- Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and data management skills .
