Duties and Responsibilities:

BASIC FUNCTION

• Maintain the existing customer base and to bring in new business from the allocated territory.

• Customer maintenance is to be done on a call cycle, which is anything between two to four weeks and the actual cycle will be decided upon between the Spare Salesperson and the Branch manager and will be listed as and work closely with the Field Service Technician and Technical Service personnel to ensure that all customers are serviced.

SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES

• Customer Maintenance:

o Ensure that the customers are seen on a regular basis within the call cycle.

o These calls are to cover general issues as well as updates on the company’s services.

o New business potential is also to be investigated at all existing customers.

o A weekly report detailing customer visits and resulting business growth should be submitted to the Branch Manager every Friday.

• Customer Data Base:

o All new customer accounts opened, and all existing accounts must have a full power base identification by position, detailing the individuals and reporting structure and delegations of authority applicable per customer business unit.

• Customer Fleet Information:

o Update customer fleet population and status. Update machine hours to assist with forecasting analysis for parts and components supply, repairs, rebuilds and machine replacement.

• New Business:

o Responsible to source, plan and obtain new business in the territory.

o New business development will be focused on agreed targets set by the executive management team of the company.

• Customer Care:

o Demonstrate commitment to customer care, ensuring that customer queries and needs are addressed promptly and to their satisfaction.

o The urgency and implied needs of the customer should be interpreted and communicated effectively, be it internally and/or externally, to find timeously solutions.

• Customer Complaints:

o Where necessary, to ensure that customer complaints and claims are treated as priority and resolved to everyone’s satisfaction.

o Evaluate complaints daily and escalate any serious complaints to the Branch Manager.

o Investigate regular service failures and escalate to the relevant department heads.

• Warranty Claims:

o Ensure that the correct Warranty Procedures are taken to act timeously, to safeguard the company as well as to supply the customer with the correct analysis and data.

• Sales Analysis:

o Analyse on a weekly and monthly basis the sales figures and demonstrate a clear and solid understanding of the figures coming out of the territory to identify areas to be always improved.

o These figures are to be always kept on record in the service Centre.

Sales Activities:

o Customer Call and Activity Plans, Customer Call Sheets and Market Intel Report to be kept up to date and submitted weekly.

o Participate in Customer Planning Meetings to help with forecasting. Follow up on Open Orders, Quotes/Proposals, Repairs and Rebuilds.

o Participate in Events and other Marketing Activities.

• Sales Targets:

o Ensure that the sales analysis is reviewed continuously in order to identify new business to optimize the potential and future business. Understand customer budgets, expansions, projects

and operations to identify opportunities.

• Occasional Assignments:

o To assist the Branch Manager with functions outside of the position, to ensure that the Service Centre runs effectively and efficiently according to the network and company standards.

Requirements:

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

• Matric/Grade 12

• 5+ years of sales

• Driver’s License

• Strong sales ability

• Product knowledge

• Market and Competitor knowledge

SOFT SKILLS :

• Ability to identify and capitalize on opportunity.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non- technical audiences.

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

• Willingness to travel as required.

• Fluent in English (Written and Verbal)

• Ability to work under pressure.

• Self-Motivated

• Time Management Skill
