Description:

  • Educate and develop fellow team members and colleagues to understand the commercial aspects of the business and how it financially comes together in our ecosystem.
  • Build strong relationships with all the team members as well as other business stakeholders to enable effective communication.
  • Manage company and departmental resources in a commercially responsible manner to support the business targets.
  • Performance manage team members to ensure that everyone is working towards the same goals that are aligned to the finance team and companywide objectives.
  • Perform cashflow forecasts and assist the financial manager to ensure that adequate financing is in place.
  • Lead banking relations and manage a stable banking environment is maintained.
  • Bank balance management: Ensure excess funds are adequately transferred between accounts at the beginning and end of the week.
  • Coordination, management and assistance of external audits
  • Prepare and submit monthly, bi-annual and annual tax calculations and returns to taxation authorities to ensure all companies are tax compliant.
  • Management of various insurance policies for the group to make sure adequate insurance policies are in place to mitigate risks.
  • Lead various monthly financial reporting to internal and external stakeholders. Ensure that reporting is timeous, accurate and relevant.
  • Co-ordinate and monitor of month-end timelines with team.
  • Coordinate end-to-end budget process to ensure accurate and timeous submissions of departmental inputs from all stakeholders and present budget to Head of Finance and Board of directors.
  • Monitor, update and co-ordinate various internal control documentation (process mapping etc)
  • Ensure that the gross profit is analysed, understood, and accurately accounted for.
  • Ensure review of stock reconciliations are performed to ensure stock recording is being done accurately and completely.
  • Co-ordinate gross profit budget process to ensure accurate and timeous submissions of the gross profit budget to all stakeholders for them to make informed business decisions.
  • Daily correspondence with growers regarding grower payments, royalties and general queries

  • Formal qualification
  • Bachelor’s in accounting/Management Accounting (Honour’s degree essential)
  • Registered with SAICA or CIMA (essential)
  • Drivers Licence (essential)
  • Formal qualification
