Description:

Fermel is seeking an experienced Contract Welding Inspector to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing thorough inspections of welding processes and completed welds to ensure compliance with project specifications, industry standards, and safety regulations. You will be required to evaluate the quality and integrity of welds and related fabrication to maintain high standards of craftsmanship and structural integrity.

Responsibilities:
• Inspect welding operations and materials to ensure compliance with technical standards and specifications.
• Conduct visual and non-destructive testing (NDT) to evaluate weld quality.
• Record and report inspection findings, including discrepancies, deviations, and non-compliance issues.
• Perform in-process inspections of welded joints, verifying alignment, welding procedures, and quality.
• Ensure all welding processes adhere to safety regulations and company policies.
• Work closely with the quality assurance team to develop and maintain inspection procedures.
• Review and interpret blueprints, welding procedures, and technical drawings.
• Ensure all welds meet the required standards and pass the necessary testing.
• Provide feedback to welders and contractors on necessary improvements or adjustments.
• Maintain proper documentation of inspections and compliance reports.

Job Requirements:
• SAIW Diploma in Welding and Fabrication Inspection (Level 1) is mandatory.
• Total Quality Management (TQM) certification required.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in welding inspection in a similar role.
• Strong knowledge of welding techniques, methods, and materials.
• Familiarity with non-destructive testing (NDT) methods (e.g., ultrasonic, magnetic particle testing).
• Understanding of safety standards and regulations in welding and fabrication environments.
• Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings and welding codes (e.g., ASME, ISO, AWS).
• Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills to report findings clearly.
