Our client is a vibrant player, changing the game in South Africa's financial services industry. They are currently looking for a full-time Associate Underwriting Consultant to join their team.
Position Overview:
Based at the Sandton head office, the primary focus of your role will be on life policy underwriting functions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Underwriting anniversary, servicing and new business and verifying Risk management risk attributes
- Adhering to Risk Management (underwriting) rules, rating, and insurance laws and regulations
- Make decisions regarding the acceptance, price and policy terms and conditions that are consistent with business Risk Management and ensure a profitable loss ratio
- Identifying underwriting concerns and suggesting possible solutions
- Manage and resolve queries received from various stakeholders including doing the necessary follow-up work.
Requirements:
- Grade 12 (a relevant tertiary qualification is preferred)
- 3 - 5 years of experience in life underwriting and administration industry. Call centre experience would be beneficial.
- Knowledge of the long-term insurance industry in underwriting
- Experience in Individual Life Insurance products i.e. Life cover, Permanent Disability cover, Temp Income Cover and Critical Illness
- Familiarity with Compliance Processes and Procedures in the insurance industry
- Strong computer literacy and excellent communication skills.
