The role is based in the industrial area of Alrode, Johannesburg South & you need to ensure no transport issues before applying.
Upfront you would need to have a very strong work ethic, have a stable work history & be performance driven. You would need to be comfortable in an industrial / manufacturing environment & experience in the compressor industry would be a plus. Remuneration - Approximately R25-R28k gross basic + Excellent benefits i.e., Co. contributes 50% of medical aid up to Discovery Cassic Priority regardless of dependents; Co. contributes up to 10.5% of basic n terms of retirement fund; guaranteed 13th + discretionary additional bonus based on individual & Co.'s performance up to 12.5% of annual salary.
verview - Role requires an individual who communicates effectively with customers, suppliers & colleagues, addresses their concerns and ensures a seamless exerience with their products and services. Strong problem-solving skills & a customer-centric approach is necessary. You would be performing clerical / administrative support duties for the sales & purchasing departments. Prepare & distribute various sales reports when required. Maintain customer & supplier files, assist sales team & handle inquiries about products or services. Project a professional company image through all interactions.
Key Responsibilities:
Customer Interation - Respond to customer inquiries via phone, email and online channels regarding required services and parts. Check & assist with reviewing internal costings leading to preparing customer quotations.
Supplier Interaction - Obtain RFQ's from suppliers based on customer requirements. Respond to vendor inquiries via phone, email and online channels. Prepare Vendor Purchase Orders, monitor supplier deliveries.
Order Management - Process customer orders, ensuring accuracy in product specifications, delivery dates, Incoterms and payment details. (Capture orders and goods received notes on relevant systems, eg: SAP/Service Next. Procure spares, co-ordinate deliveries, Raise, send & save documentation.
Import & Export Control - Prepare & collate required documentation and deal with freight forwarders to obtain Import Licenses, enure that correct Inco-terms are being applied.
Issue Resolution - Handle customer complaints or issues, escalating to the appropriate department when necessary, while maintaining a professional and positive demeanor.
Sales Support - Assist with upselling parts, service agreements, and additional products based on customer needs.
Documentation - Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, transactions, inquiries, and complaints in relevant systems.
Collaboration - Work closely with the sales, technical support, and stores teams to ensure timely and accurate delivery of products and services as well as controlling/maintaining stock levels in relation to open sales orders and customer contracts. Liase with the workshop regarding processing of Job cards/picking lists and production orders.
Follow-up - Proactively follow up on customer satisfaction, order status and any post-purchase support needs.
Requirements:
- Matric, additional tertiary diploma or other job related certification is preferred.
- 3-5 years of related experience & experience in the compressor or manufacturing industry is a bonus.
- Solid understanding of Inco-terms & financial payment instrument (eg: Letter of Credit) would be highly benefricial.
- Proficient in using SAP software and office applications (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).
- Previous experience in customer service, preferably in an industrial or technical environment.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to problem-solve and think critically in a fast-paced environment.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and a customer-first mindset.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Basic understanding of compressors, mechanical systems, or industrial equipment would be a plus.
