Junior Draughtsman

Overview:The Principal Draughtsman is responsible for overseeing the Drafting Division, ensuring the timely and accurate preparation of estimates, bills of materials, construction, and as-built drawings. This role involves close collaboration with designers, engineers, and project managers to support project planning and execution.Location: Airport Industrial, Cape Town Key Responsibilities:

• Manage the drafting team and workflow to meet project requirements.
• Create and update technical drawings, including initial designs, construction, and as-built drawings.
• Ensure all designs comply with industry regulations and project specifications.
• Coordinate with engineers and project managers for design adjustments.
• Prepare comprehensive Bills of Materials.
• Maintain quality control and ensure accurate record-keeping of all drawings.
• Train and guide junior draughtsmanand technicians.
• Manage and organizedigital drawing folders efficiently.

Requirements:

• Relevant technical qualification (minimum N4 preferred).
• Advanced proficiency in TurboCAD/AutoCAD.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and time-management skills.
• Ability to work independently while managing multiple tasks.
• Knowledge of mechanical and electrical engineering principles.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Outlook) and internet browsers.
• Driver’s license and own transport (advantageous).
