Minimum Requirements:Grade 12 BCom Accounting/Finance Degree with Articles or Qualified CA(SA) At least 7 years of experience in a senior Finance position Agricultural or fruit industry experience preferred Knowledge of Forex transactions Ability to lead and manage the office and stand in when Directors are unavailable
Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop and implement the company's financial strategy, aligning with overall business objectives. Prepare annual budgets, forecasts, and long-term financial plans. Conduct financial analysis, including variance analysis, profitability analysis, and cash flow forecasting. Provide financial insights and recommendations to the executive team to support strategic decision-making. Monitor and analyze industry trends and competitor performance to identify opportunities and risks. Oversee the development and implementation of financial policies and procedures. Oversee the preparation and timely submission of accurate financial reports (monthly, quarterly, annual). Ensure compliance with all relevant accounting standards (IFRS) and tax regulations in South Africa. Manage the annual audit process and liaise with external auditors. Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records. Manage tax planning and compliance, including VAT, corporate tax, and other relevant taxes. Stay informed about changes in financial regulations and ensure compliance Oversee all financial operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, treasury, and payroll. Implement and maintain strong internal controls to safeguard company assets. Manage cash flow effectively, including optimizing working capital and managing foreign exchange risk (crucial for exports). Negotiate and manage banking relationships and credit facilities. Oversee the company's insurance policies. Implement and manage financial software and systems Manage foreign currency transactions and hedging strategies to mitigate exchange rate fluctuations. Manage relationships with fruit growers/suppliers regarding payments and financial arrangements Lead and manage the finance team, including performance management, training, and development. Foster a positive and productive work environment within the finance department. Delegate tasks effectively and provide guidance and support to team members
