Minimum Requirements:Bachelors degree in Agriculture, Agribusiness, Horticulture, Farm Management, or related field. Minimum of 5-10 years of experience in farm management, preferably in fruit or strawberry production. Strong knowledge of modern agricultural techniques, irrigation systems, and pest control. Excellent leadership and team management skills. Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities. Financial acumen with budgeting and cost management experience. Knowledge of farm machinery and equipment maintenance. Strong communication and negotiation skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced, hands-on farm environment. Familiarity with export regulations and international market requirements. Knowledge of farm software and technology for data-driven decision-making.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Farm Operations & Production Management Oversee day-to-day farm activities, including planting, irrigation, fertilization, pest control, and harvesting. Develop and implement best agricultural practices to improve yield and fruit quality. Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements. Monitor soil health and implement crop rotation or soil enhancement strategies. Maintain and optimize irrigation and greenhouse systems Workforce & Team Management Recruit, train, and supervise farm workers, supervisors, and technical staff. Schedule and allocate tasks efficiently to ensure smooth farm operations. Foster a positive work environment with proper motivation and performance monitoring. Financial & Business Management Prepare budgets, manage costs, and optimize farm profitability. Monitor expenses, forecast financial needs, and oversee procurement of farm inputs. Identify new revenue streams, including agritourism or value-added products (e.g., jams, dried strawberries). Ensure compliance with government subsidies, grants, or funding opportunities. Quality Control & Post-Harvest Management Implement strict quality control measures for sorting, packaging, and storage of strawberries. Develop strategies to reduce post-harvest losses and enhance product shelf life. Oversee distribution and sales to markets, retailers, or direct-to-consumer channels. Sustainability & Compliance Implement eco-friendly farming techniques to ensure sustainable production. Ensure compliance with agricultural laws, labor laws, and food safety regulations. Maintain farm certifications such as GAP (Good Agricultural Practices) or organic certification
